How to Add AI Overlay Effects to Your Kick or TikTok Stream

If you stream on Kick or TikTok and want to add interactive overlay effects to your stream, OverlayMax AI is the simplest way to do it. No extensions, no downloads, no subscriptions. Just two URLs pasted into OBS.

What You Get

OverlayMax AI gives you two things:

1. A hotkey soundboard. Nine buttons in your OBS dock, each bound to a built-in visual effect. Hearts, confetti, fireworks, snow, lightning, and more. Click a button, the effect fires on your stream. No AI, no credits, free forever.

2. An AI co-pilot (optional). Your viewers' chat messages, gifts, follows, and subs stream into the dock as live cards. Click "Generate AI" on any card and an AI creates a unique overlay effect that fits the moment. You decide whether to apply it. Costs one AdHunters credit per click. Free trial included.

Step 1: Sign Up

Go to overlaymax.fastocloud.com/signup and enter your email. We'll send you a magic link. Click it and you're in. No passwords to remember.

Your account comes pre-loaded with nine default hotkey effects so you can go live immediately without configuring anything.

Step 2: Connect Your Platform

On your profile page, connect your streaming platform:

  • Kick - click Connect, log in with your Kick account, done.
  • TikTok - type your TikTok username and click Save. No OAuth needed. Your live events start arriving as soon as you go live.

You can connect both platforms at the same time if you stream on multiple.

Step 3: Add to OBS

Your profile now shows two URLs under the "OBS Setup" tab:

  • Overlay URL - add this as a Browser Source in OBS. Set the resolution to 1920x1080. This is the transparent canvas where effects render on top of your stream.
  • Dock URL - add this as a Custom Browser Dock (View → Docks → Custom Browser Docks). This is your control panel. You'll see the hotkey buttons, the live event feed, and the block list here.

Step 4: Customize Your Hotkeys

The nine default slots work out of the box, but you can customize them from the "Hotkeys" tab on your profile:

  • Swap any slot to a different built-in effect (there are 14 to choose from).
  • Upload your own PNG, JPG, WebP, or animated GIF (up to 5 MB, 50 files per account) and bind it to a slot.
  • Transparent PNGs and GIFs render with their alpha channel directly on the overlay. No chroma-key filter needed in OBS.

Step 5: Go Live

Start your stream. The dock status pill will switch from "Offline" to "Live" when the WebSocket connects. From here you have three tools:

Hotkey buttons - the 3x3 grid in the dock. Click any button to instantly fire that effect on stream. These are free and unlimited.

Event feed - chat, gifts, follows, subs, raids, and likes appear as cards. Use the filter checkboxes to hide types you don't care about (e.g. mute "like" on a busy TikTok stream). If you want an AI effect for a specific event, click "Generate AI" on that card.

Block button - on any chat card, click Block to permanently silence that viewer's chat from appearing in your dock. Saves your attention and your AI credits. Unblock anytime from the Blocked panel.

Optional: Enable AI Effects

The hotkey soundboard works without any AI key. If you also want AI-generated effects, open the "AI (optional)" tab on your profile and paste an AdHunters API key. You get free trial credits to start. After that it's pay-per-click, no subscription.

Works on Tablet Too

The dock is a responsive web page. Open the dock URL in a tablet browser and you get a touch-friendly layout. Useful if you stream from a desktop but want to fire hotkeys from a tablet on your desk.
